Hi there! I am so happy you're here. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience working with clients experiencing stressful life events, anxiety, depression, and grief. I am a lifelong Belleville resident, and attended SIUE and Lindenwood University for my bachelor's and Master's degrees.
My professional career includes extensive experience with the Illinois Department on Aging where I connected many families with local resources as well as my time as a therapist and the Director of an Older Adult & Caregiver Counseling program.
I love my work as a therapist, I find true joy in meeting people where they are, helping them heal and discover new ways to see the world. Walking alongside someone, sitting with them in their pain, is a privilege and an honor I never take for granted.
Throughout my time as a therapist, I have amassed a variety of approaches and techniques that offer a unique outlook on therapy and what a powerful, life changing experience it can be! My ultimate hope is to help you, offering you new perspectives and understanding as you walk through whatever journey you are on.
I think a kaleidoscope is such a wonderful metaphor for what counseling is. What appears as broken pieces, with some added light and focus can actually reveal something truly beautiful. As you make even the smallest adjustments, the picture changes. I believe that is what counseling can be...it just takes a little bit of adjusting, looking at something from a different perspective, and those "broken" pieces can reveal a beautiful picture and a renewed you!
Kaleidoscope Heart is a poem written and performed by Sara Bareilles.
